Media walls and bespoke TV cabinetry

A media wall should organise the room without letting the screen dominate it. Sixes combines cabinetry, cable routes, ventilation and finishes into one measured composition.

Made to measure

A useful space first. A beautiful finish throughout.

Plan the technology properly

Screen position, viewing height, speaker locations, device access, power and ventilation are resolved before the visible work.

More than a plasterboard box

Joinery, shelving and closed storage give the installation depth and usefulness. The result can be quiet and architectural rather than oversized.

Questions about media walls & tv cabinetry

Can existing sockets be used?

Sometimes. The electrical layout must be assessed against the proposed equipment and cable routes.

Planning your project

Design the cabinetry around the screen and services

We begin with the screen size, viewing position, equipment, speakers and storage needs. Ventilation, cable access and the location of existing power must be understood before a joinery layout is fixed; electrical alterations need the appropriate trade.

Painted cabinetry can frame the display subtly, while oak or veneered shelves give a contrasting material. Removable panels and access to devices matter as much as the front elevation.

  • TV and speaker positions planned to the room
  • Closed base storage with access for equipment and cables
  • Open shelves or alcove units where they improve the composition

Practical questions

Will a new socket be required?

That depends on the existing electrical layout and equipment. The required electrical work is checked separately before the joinery is finalised.

If the screen is less important than book or display storage, see alcove units. Share wall photos, screen dimensions and the equipment list in the media wall consultation.
